African print clothing definitely had a major moment this year. Stars like Beyonce, Angela Simmons or Rihanna were spotted wearing African clothing. Even on the runways and people all around social media, were wearing beautiful African print pieces and I’m all here for it!
First things first: yes I know I’ve changed my hair again but this is just what I like to do. Sometimes you just need to switch it up for a while ;).
I feel like as an African you are almost obligated to have a least one traditional wear item in your closet. I don’t actually own much African print clothing but that’s just another reason for me to update my collection. If anyone of you seen something that they think I would like, leave some links below. I would love to check out some of your suggestions. However, I’m showing you one of the clothing pieces I own.
What looks like a dress on me is actually a skirt and top made by my lovely aunty in Nigeria. I got to choose the fabric for the clothing myself. After looking at several fabrics at the market I decided to go with this pink fabric. I was really drawn to the pink and liked how it looked with the little bit of turquoise in it (which if you haven’t read my facts about me yet is my favourite colour). I have to admit that I don’t wear it that much but it’s still one of my favourite pieces in my closet and it’s definitely a show stopper!
To bring out more the blue-greenish colour in my set I wore some old shoes from Zara, which in my opinion just fits perfect.
